Malos laughs, short and a little embarrassed. He lifts his head from his hands.
"Oh, shit, good point," he says, to himself and to Lloyd. "Nah don't- don't worry about answering me yet, I'll go first."
Least he owes the kid, right? Probably scared the shit out of him.
"Name's Malos," he says. He doesn't move to get off the ground, but makes himself a little more comfortable where he is. Whatever, it's his own house, he can sit where he wants. "And if you're Lloyd Irving, that makes me your grandpa. Your mom's adopted." He adds that last bit because he knows 99 times out of 100 blades can't have children, so that's normally a pair of dots people need connected. 'Sides, it's not like he looks old enough to be a grandpa.
"This is, y'know, the house we bought while your mom went to law school," Malos continues. "Dunno where she is right now." (From the feel of the emotion bleed? Probably getting into trouble. He'll deal with that later, though. If she needed help, she knows how to get his attention.)
"Anyway."
Malos takes a second to gather his words, drums a short rhythm against his knees as he finds them.
"Sorry for scaring you like that, kid," he apologizes. "Haven't seen you in five years, y'know?"
